its onu not ncu
looking over it i cant tell if it will do what i want but theres this other tool omni for the fork i have to use to even build the thing
: "${PFEXEC:=sudo}"
yuh its great its great
still cant be assed
if uts is the sun init is the moon and smf is the stars
and i hate all of them
P14200 link reply
going finalize the patches and use a strict version and compile everything then use ncu to install into the netmount when i can be assed

how does matching a <footer>s text for certain imageboard software on proper search engines sound advanced idk
its like "jschan 1."

P14192 link reply
P14159
who's that?
P14191 link reply
libcs compile path is so *****ing broken
its huge too almost competing with glibc here
im not even sure how to properly fix it but i need a new libc
it will compile while i nap again
P14190 link reply
vinyl tube correction it can either be 1 or 0
1 means fd
0 means path to file as string
here it needs to be 0
maybe recompiling libc will fix this that be funny but not unlikely
the abi differences is going be horrible i should switch to the illumos rev on my dev to the target probably finalize those patches too
im still unsure how it *****ed up that variable into something corrupted
P14189 link reply
its likely the network mount isnt letting whatever exec does to get a fd do its job
yet fopen works completely fine
irritation leads to being tired
tired leads to nappit
P14188 link reply
on the running system smf is started well before /dev/fd is mounted
maybe something isnt getting created in /devices or /dev
im going do something else but might still try forcing /dev/fd
P14187 link reply
well now theres this
execle which cant make new processes in init.c somehow hits execve which calls this function thats generated from a assembly file execvex
this function has a flags argument its set to 0 by execve
yet somewhere these flags get changed once it hits the uts exece and that doesnt let flags be anything other than 1
when its 1 that means theres a fd associated with the executable anything else is incorrect
im getting garbage when using ::bp exece and looking at rcx
for quick reference ill post this here
%rdi 1
%rsi 2
%rdx 3
%rcx 4
%r8 5
%r9 6
this is specific to amd64 with gcc
argument 4 is a int so it returns 4 bytes and it does with 0x0/X
now for i386 rdi rsi rdx rcx is the same yet im not getting anything with a working system
i can depend on this comment about the flags and consider how /dev/fd is not mounted yet but it is on a working system
havent found where in the kernel /dev/fd gets mounted but i can force it after /dev
if im lucky thats the issue
remember /dev/fd does show up in vfstab maybe network booting is ignoring vfstab

made init print the mount information
also had to make init compile independently wasnt too hard but its broken like utses tree is
printf didnt work with init here had to use console pretty asinine it should be ansi by now
well the mount type for root appears to be no longer bootstrap so that is working
now to figure out why execle wont work after nap
maybe just making a new network rootfs is what i should do
P14167 link reply
forcing more posts
this is why i hate retards that rant on about single user mode when debugging the "rc" P14166
P14166 link reply
cuz the loader passes boot flaggots down to init i tried something
boot -s
and it didnt work cuz single user isnt normal post i forgot what os and is usually handled by something else than init or init requires to reach some late stage thats illogical and single user is still multiuser
instead i edited inittab to force the shell
EINVAL (exec of shell failed)
now of course i wish to believe binaries cant be executed with this uts
yet init is being executed
now how do you easily debug this you dont without understanding how the emulator link to uts works
some weird files for the emulator link stages might need to exist and they dont
or init needs something before it can use exec*
cant wait for smf to be horribly broken too
P14165 link reply
think im outside of the uts now and at init
might be time to finalize those patches but i think it can wait until i finish inits issues
until smf might stop there
P14164 link reply
its gone further and now i understand the getattr spam
EINVAL (exec of shell failed)
ok be nice if it print this argument
maybe its trying to do something on the network fs that doesnt work likely
P14163 link reply
funny atleast on the running instance syscon is the same device file as console
its almost starting to shine yay yay
P14162 link reply
zfs/zpool.cache, ino=0
sure cope that isnt causing any issues here
dev/syscon, ino=0
now with utses like these this is an issue
dev/conslog, ino=0
thats the last one and looking at the syscon one ill assume sun uts is a little more permissive if conslog exist before silently giving up and just sticking there
i can be wrong about syscon equaling console but this looks like proper attempts at using the rootfs

its still stuck in that bootstrap fstype and its getting a bunch of fh/unknows over the network kek
not sure if it should be out of it yet also need to enable debugging for suns network fs which is really difficult

i cant tell if i should start yelling wigger or not lol
xens boot is even better it sets it to "unknown"
im not sure what this is but its free speech
not booting yet server name needs to be something proper so i really need to find the dh***** value or just give up and use this option

softmac_recreate
this thing is basically saying it shouldnt be used during netboot
but netboot wants a proper linkid
lets do something wrong again yay yay
P14131 link reply
maybe i can get away with a plain mac_open
i dont know what a macname is like lo0 or 0 of streams
somehow the networking interface not entering initialized from dls_devnet_create isnt causing it to print the error
but dls`dls_devnet_create does stop with kmdb
maybe its just kmdb being broken again its never called
or different threads cant printf to stdout and i have to use that cmn_error thing
and that didnt seem to be the issue instead something else proved it wants to be recreated and it prints there maybe the thread running dls_devnet_create cant print to kfds
that thread is also working with internal softmac functions so now im closer to believing anything from normal mac is a incorrect linkid
not sure how that works still softmac sounds like mac that isnt close enough to a nic or some other networking thing that has layer2 addresses like bridges even virtual
maybe i can use softmacs other forcible reinitialize everything function
its so wrong but it tastes good
P14130 link reply
being honest ive never had to do something like debug why a completely sane and initialized network interface "lo" will not attach to a maybe broken ppa "0"
this "lo" and this "0" will not become this "lo0" its *****ing weird
harder than anything ive had to debug with booting before
i cant even do the open by linkid cuz the linkid is never set just checked that its why its not initialized and i cant get that information anywhere this deep down the codepath its failing to boot
so now i have to dig somewhere else completely different

expecting correctness further from this sun was incorrect
it does the same shit every other uts does where objects have pseudo private and pseudo public interfaces to get up and running to a certain state while depending on each other at link
instead of cleanly separating it at stages from different objects like you would expect from a operating system written with correctness in mind
yuh ik i said i do something else but im retarded and already regretting it
change it to normal mac and now im running into obvious mutex failures cuz some other thread is already messing with mac
incrementally harder and more difficult
nappit

not sure how to make that last one work but i need it

there is only 3 functions which set dd_flags into initialized down this path
they all have to do with dlmgmtd which cant exist yet
yet dls`dls_devnet_create runs after the networking devices ldi handle is allocated
::prtconf says the device tree is correct at this ::bp and ::modinfo says the module for the networking device is loaded
if im lucky where its failing to set dd_flags into initialized with dls_devnet_create i can later do a dls_devnet_recreate to force it into initialized
i dont know how to get a datalink_id or mac_handle there so it might not work
another thought some of the registers during a breakpoint should contain addresses to arguments
getting lucky again maybe it will let me print them with ::printf but last time i just got thrown out by the way sun hides pointers for functions
it should work by just doing a ::print with the proper symbol but of course this debugger doesnt work and that only happens sometimes

thankfully i dont have to recompile genunix this time
just import 3 modules
god there it is qassociate calls annihilate me already
but it looks like i dont have to dig into that theres a different err where i have to look over 4 different functions with printfs cuz the debugger wont work
which is part of one other modules i recompiled but it isnt small like the last one

P14073 link reply
looking at something else i think i understand how ppa 0 is used here
its like this
lo0 this is ppa 0
lo1 this is ppa 1
so its similar to streams 0 of the device lo
this might mean lo gets initialized enough to have streams but ppa 0 is never associated to it
yet the struct that contains the ppa has it set to 0
maybe it just defaults at 0 and im hitting a bug
its possible lh shouldnt be the plumbing module guess i have to go back to making the vnode thing work idgi
nap really is nap
P14072 link reply
without fixing that last issue i see something extremely wrong
the dlpi attach is trying to attach a nonexistent stream to the plumbing module instead of some dl* module
that makes no sense but maybe its correct the module needs to be attached to the relevant ppa before using it
lets say its correct then ppa needs to be set further back when it isnt getting set
this function has nothing to do with associating something to the network device only using its ppa
really annoyed might as well nap
pretty sure i should resolve ppa associations and discard this vnode thing its useless if its a vnode pointing to plumbing
P14071 link reply
the root vnode isnt significant for whats making it fault and thats the only thing i could omit
i cant understand how these kmdb hex offsets at functions work i think its bytes until without macros but it could be bytes in assembly thats been assembled into binary
P14070 link reply
here it is
vnodetopath can release the vnode and root vnode passed to it
vnode releasing seems to be causing the page fault from either trying to access a mutex that doesnt exist or vn_rele information on a vnode that doesnt exist
maybe its saying this vnode still doesnt exist as a path
the way unix reloads itself from the boot archive and hard requires it makes me think vfs does exist at this point but ive had no further proof genunix is also loaded from this boot archive
maybe it exists in a partial state and gets unloaded until the rootfs mounting code path
P14069 link reply
unix:die
this thing is meme tier without context
P14068 link reply
that fixed it
now im back at pagefaults for using vnodetopath
P14067 link reply
now they match
still warming up my c shit
funny how i have to do this every time after decades
brainrot be real
maybe if i now make the printfs use this proper sunpointer ill get more information
forgot to say i manually made the clonepath in the boot archive still didnt boot
P14066 link reply
no here it points at the thing so many times its cancer
(void *)*
i mean shit its already a pointer too
[bold: W-]
P14065 link reply
the modname is correct
maybe major is wrong but it gets the proper drv name
the pointers are completely different across scopes that sounds wrong unless the pointers are getting reassigned
but wait im working with a auto variable here created inside the scope so thats even less logical
P14064 link reply
li is broken too
[spoiler: did something else for a while there]
thats good but it isnt
i know vfs doesnt exist yet so how does clonepath work without a vfs
P14063 link reply
yes that struct is broken
remember this P13959
i still havent checked li correctly
it doesnt fail but some value that should be streams is garbage
so modlinkage must be making li point at garbage or ldi_open_by_name isnt working likely clonepath if li isnt invalid
P14062 link reply
the whole lh struct is wrong
still checking to make sure i didnt screw up the printfs
P14061 link reply
forced post increment
*should have
keep forgetting theres a sped here that doesnt like the dialectic where thats acceptable
P14060 link reply
vfs still doesnt exist there but on a running system something has a similar clonepath
if it failed with that clonepath it should of printed something so i can assume its not wrong
or maybe it should be @3
maybe modname is irrelevant i cant tell
this super massive orb still isnt shining
P14059 link reply
that was a *****up like the posts i made where i should of deleted the first two lines instead of getting btfod by caching
im not sure what to make of this clonepath the @ is different than the 3
maybe 0 means auto allocate a unit
checking prtconf the unit address is still the same
P14058 link reply
clonepath is corrupted and modname is empty probably a corrupted string too
ppa is 0 either ppas start at 0 or its nothing im going with nothing so its not associated with any streams
now im starting to atleast be in a hellhole of real issues
instead of spending days to figure out how the uts boot works
not sure how to force posts while doing this that arent one liners
doubt it matters
P14057 link reply

its funny how this shit writes itself i doubt whoever made this even understands the symbols they shat out

imo due to the nature of 2kki cheating it after putting in 50hours isnt a issue
you dont gain more either way dose yourself correctly
i started the cheats for two effects after around 120hours so yuh lol
ive played alot of them so i cant think of much off the top of my head
2kki has one of those tribute rooms even
played .flow and shikki [spoiler: i think its been years] but honestly those arent so much
lcddem is good for the sound tracks but the walking sim isnt contrasted correctly
ultra violet has some nice eye candy but the "story" is cring
[spoiler: gnosis is a edgefest but im unsure if thats this type of game and yes i know nix]
夢数 is extremely mysterious advancing takes some really hidden areas that make no sense
夢日誌 i forgot what was interesting about this one

like when i have to hack directly at registers or assembly for some reason
ive done x86 assembly before its just no rather not dig into jewtels docs
>repairs
changes is the proper terminology thats all a brain does and more plasticness is needed for "healing" or something
>in theory i could write a script (lmao xD) to just auto-compare all the pics with iqdb and export tags from boorus, but that's for later and bigger projects i guess heh
i dont remember how but someone i used to know used (((hydra))) for this
dont like the bloated mess but go use it *****ing wow
hurry up tendies i want 2 nap
P14022 link reply
having to wait longer for tendies before nap this time around
so i have another gem well this is my fault
copystr: arguments in user space
so i cant use vnodetopath and i have to look through the function it wraps around to manually vnodetopath as kernel space
the function is huge no seethe
probably wasting my time here its not like vfs exists correctly yet why would a vnode properly exist
i dont even see its dmod loaded kek
P14021 link reply
P13996
>its sunx86
do you mean you are doing it on the x86 hardware? ok maybe i can do something as well lol
like veeeery slowwwwly :3
>o i meant physically too lol
that depends on the braindamage i guess but ultimately brain kinda repairs itself in general, and it doesn't even need that much mass to function lol. i think something has to go seriously wrong for it to go alzheimer or some shite
well in any case one just has to believe lol
>maybe incrementally tagging the most important things to least important will help that way you can slide through 1000 a day

P14011
yeah i like it
played it for over 30-50 hours without ever beating it though, let alone doing the puzzley stuff. shits too hard to find
P14017 link reply
there is a real common usecase for this too
nfss /export permissions
wait that has to do with sun
P14016 link reply
vnodetopath
this is another gem
whoever wrote it considers the need for directories to be read [bold: and] execute to look up invalid and using this function by default its bypassed
imagine setting up a system and leaving directories other executable bit on then having files that have other read on getting leaked
sure if you are a proper os autist you dont do this but packages arent any better
P14015 link reply
that didnt work it be dumb to believe the uts will access devices by vfs at bootstrap
to make sure i did a bp on both copen and open same shit nothing
name='unit-address' im guessing this is the thing thats @ on the /device special file
still need that vop but now i wouldnt be surprised if its empty
P14014 link reply
im starting to believe it is the boot archive missing proper /dev and /device trees
ldi_ioctl works on idl_handle which has a vnode type so that might point at the device file
some vnode operation please let me get the pathname
sure being braindead is making me go (((midwit))) here but i did have the idea a long time ago the boot archive needed the networking interfaces device file
if that was the issue this was a huge waste of time
P14013 link reply
dlpi has a associated state and unassociated state for interfaces
im guessing here this is either its associated with mac or its properly plumbed
still cant find anything easy like dladm probably time to read its source too
P14012 link reply
ppa is a hardware association with streams
im not sure what streams even exist at this point but it looks like mac is a stream
cant find anything that can tell me if the ppa exists and is correct its just a int much like fds are so ill assume that isnt broken for now
maybe streams are complete enough sockets i should look for that idk
theres this shitty function qassociate() that has a race condition they knowingly left in it should get called somehow but it only has to do with queues im not sure
so much for that correctness with sun
after fiddling with dl_op im going need some debugging call that can tell me whats in dlpi and how a lh is related to dlpi
P14011 link reply
P14009

im pretty sure this is ai generated
the eyes might look like they are part of the art style but looking in the background the spill looks like a what and the wings are wrong if this is who i think it is from the side tail
background also looks like one of those ai vision takes
almost want to say its patched ai generation but i would think some more important things get patched
maybe who ever worked on this was just too lazy and left the weird hallucinations between which character it should be
nappit
P14007 link reply
real sad im hoping its broken in certain ways when it isnt
i should be happy it isnt but i just know it gets incrementally more complicated and difficult the further im going here where its not broken
im just waiting for it to be something like manually creating those special files but it takes a long ass time to do
P14006 link reply
well working enough where the networking interface can do networking and the unix tree looks correct for it
::prtconf doesnt display the ldi information like userland prtconf does
thats the next issue i have to get btfod by
im thinking its possible ldi makes the interface attachment fail due to /dev and /devices not existing properly on the boot archive but bootadm never creates those and i tried that same thing
maybe manually creating the device file for the networking device in the boot archive
too annoyed to work on it again going do something else
P14005 link reply
its dev name addr is null
i dont see how that causes a problem here but its bad i think
id need a working config to see if thats an issue here
while i_ddi_attach_node_hierarchy succeeds it could just attach into the unix device tree incorrectly and that might be what the name addr assists in
this function also accesses drv/*.conf from the boot archive in the hierarchy going up but i couldnt see anything in the short time i checked that would help
of course the mac is never gotten because the device isnt attachable its like shoving some broken card into a shredder
P14004 link reply
time to look at the crafted printfs then nap
i forgot to do one of them so ill have to boot up the dev builder again and add it
networking model
host bridge
goes through the root nexus idiotically but ok
Ethernet controller
look at that guess the obp var isnt happening
plumb failure from networking device not existing at dlpi again
funny i guess its the boot archives obp dev tree that needs to be fixed cant tell
mac target boot <null string> ??
explains the plumb failure at getting mac
dev path <null string>
i need this to not be empty but itll be empty until macs match
im going omit rants about matching macs being a bad system for figuring out the network boot interface
P14003 link reply
no it only works on objects
the dmod is a object with the same name as the top level function i was inspecting
dont know why this dmod doesnt own the other symbols i need its part of the same dmod
both unix and genunix have too many symbols and going through them for it sucks
P14002 link reply
figured a trick out
using ::nm on a func symbol will also print all the other symbols owned by it
now if only it let me *****ing do a dmod ` symbol
P14001 link reply
NAME
:u - step target out of current function

SYNOPSIS
:u

ATTRIBUTES

Target: kmdb_kvm
Module: kmdb
Interface Stability: Evolving
it steps out but goes too far
cant get those symbols it really is printf time
P14000 link reply
` are called dmod scopes and only now they work
not the last time i tried using them
P13999 link reply
got it to stop by not making it a nop but now it wont let me print the symbols i need
scoped garbage going with the printf route
should read the kmdb source to understand how ` scopes work
yuh im having to read debugger source code to properly use a debugger
reminds me of dealing with perl
P13998 link reply
if im lucky i only have to recompile this module and push it into the boot archive
then i tap into the first leech that has the symbols loaded for the module
it found them but ignored them
maybe ill have to go the annoying manually printf route
P13997 link reply
i have trouble calling it illumos cuz thats not how illumos distros work and you cant run illumos
P13996 link reply
right now im thinking i can get away with patching in slightly missing information with this garbage
like forcing a if name to be the netboot device with a new x86 obp var
cleanliest solution i can think of that doesnt require modifying a loader
its future proof when ever another loader gets developed for a new platform it will push just enough due to underlying libraries and this will fix the rest of the code path
have to recompile in with my kike leeches to figure out what shits what before i write that patch
P13978
nah
ok i lied i dont want philosopher stones in smol pp
P13980
>i dunno, i feel like if you are poking with a debugger it's pretty much low level
you can say that until you are manually plugging into a jtag to run a debugger remotely over some daemon that translates to the debugger for the jtag
then the opinion of what low level is changes
sun was written in a period where mins are expected to program in certain antifeatures like this networking thing thus the grand debugging facilities
too bad its broken [spoiler: lost that shine from age] but its better than when linox breaks in the same way that hard requires kgdb and doing those obnoxious remaps
>also don't know anything about sunos/sparc
its sunx86
i have serious doubts current illumos can run on sparc systems
at best its like netbsds tier iii platforms
still like to get a openhardware ultrasparc and find out now that i understand the codebase enough
theres more interesting operating systems that support sparc doe so bogus reasoning
this is another reason i dont like this meme the arm ports are some weird patches that are almost nonexistent
>i have done it only a few times and don't have the energy atm lol
and here i am always having to debug boot on $oswhoknows
using all my antibouts to shitpost debugging this sun
>kinda i guess
o i meant physically too lol
idk maybe what ur saying would work
>10000 is way too many for it not to become a grand project
not really imo
until you have bouts like you say then it is
maybe incrementally tagging the most important things to least important will help that way you can slide through 1000 a day
if its something like the shit were posting just use (((hydra))) and import by hash problem solved

like to do a line number break at source file with this garbage
im just going nap or something too irritating
P13976 link reply
now with stepping
kmdb: int cannot be stepped
kmdb: failed to single-step target: operation not supported by target
when i said bsd incorporating it i meant without the bugs and incompletion like some mopebsd sperg would rant on about
broken debugging interfaces are free speech
P13975 link reply
found another bug with ::bp
single stepping got me into the symbol i wanted but using ::bp didnt work
funny how sometimes it does and sometimes it doesnt
P13974 link reply
well uts
its not just a kernel and something and sun make sometimes decides to recompile everything more than bsd make
have to use proper names or get btfod for it by debugging not working
P13973 link reply
finally confirmed virtual addresses do not work with ::bp
tried both 0x0::bp and ::bp 0x0
i shouldnt be surprised this debugger is so incomplete
lucky theres symbols in the initial scope to leech off and then later attach to the symbols i want
cant wait to recompile a new kernel so i have some weird nop call to leech on where i need it
P13972 link reply
i tried that before
also starting to think ldi is not if lol
has to do with a layer abstraction for devices
i guess ndd working on it and the networking device is a unix device
P13971 link reply
its nice how sun is written for proper mins that knew how to code from before and when you could still easily get sourcecode from other c*mpanies even as a c*nsumer
openboot is written for proper mins that knew how to modify hardware from before
bsds should atleast take after the first one with debugging utils more even if its not exactly unix philosophy to be directly with the lower code as a min
maybe i can ::nmadd at a virtual address or something theres this ::vtop thing
reminds me does this shit even support aslr and kaslr
P13970 link reply
learning that ldi = if helped out alot
funny thing is the device does get loaded into dlpi but boot throws a dlpi error that the device its trying to load doesnt exist
not sure if ldi needs to be registered into the dlpi system by the kernel or they get registered by existing
ldi_handle - display a layered driver handle
ldi_ident - display a layered driver identifier
maybe i wont have to dig through a bunch of structs after stopping the code at an ass time cuz *****ing cant load external symbols
still have to stop at an ass time these dcmds dont magically make the code space have the correct state
P13969 link reply
well i knew this but ::load isnt correct
causes the thing to ::cont lol
NAME
load - load debugger module
SYNOPSIS
::load [-sd] module

DESCRIPTION
-d defer load until next continue
-s load module silently

ATTRIBUTES
Target: kmdb_kvm
Module: kmdb
Interface Stability: Evolving
well no looks like -d might
still no symbols
(:c to complete)
and same shit lol
certainly the debugging nature of sun still goes strong the bsd i use needs its in kernel debugger to take after this they copied after dtrace for the same reason
be nice to know what can restart this thing instead of forcing me to reboot and wait for the boot archive to load it takes a long time
serial is also buggy so getting it to enter the debugger is painful
makes me have to wait like 10mins before i can debug again reboots cost alot and will edge me closer to the snooze
P13968 link reply
P13964
its not low level yet imo im working with what ill call stage4 of the boot here
system firmware . loader . unix n reloading unix from boot archive . genunix module from boot archive
havent had to write modifications to lostartup.S or debug the trampoline start up code for making dis n dat architecture play *****ing nicely with this garbage [spoiler: sun calls its lostartup.S and somewhat beyond dboot]
and i wont have to thankful its not broken there and multiboot is used in mostly pure c here passed off from the loader if i ever have to touch that
in serious they gave a in kernel debugger instead of forcing me to compile debugging symbols in and manually attach them to gdb with a bunch of jumps i have to compute externally
kgdb isnt that hard at base too bad kmdb isnt making it obvious how to load in symbols from modules
i started so still not stopping i mean sure it would be nice if someone just post the solution but i know nobody lurking here understands this last time i used this flavor of illumos i didnt have to compile anything for production or network boot it so i didnt understand it back then either lmao
still makes me cring when i see someone recommend a le bsd but never worked on a package in their life and only sticks to the little amount of packages the ports have because theyve never had to use 3rd party software to do anything interesting
its funny how much "not unix" sunny is yet i think it got sus once
well thread has left some useful pointers for continuing been the most useful thread ive made in 4 years even if its for myself
also gate still requires closed binaries to build inside onbld its whole existence is a fraud not using this in real life or beyond shitposting like this
>reverse brainrot
is this possible
>deal with my 10000 pic collection
idk i just use csv files and import them into xattrs lol
god-chan picks the relevant untagged images i shitpost with
P13966
im calling them naps for a reason megurine

lmao
sorry i don't know about os'es enough to do the kind of low level debugging you do
and i have kinda different priorities now
like reverse brainrot and deal with my 10000 pic collection
kinda contradicting goals, i know, but i have to hahaha
P13963 link reply
now its nap time
P13962 link reply

wow now resolve this sun 1k retards
really need to cut this habit i doubt even the 3 *****ers assisting me in inflating content here are reading this instead of skimming
im doing most of it but still lol
P13961 link reply
dead beef heh
like when karl gets ignored by all those trannys and its just oversharing blogging everywhere that should be in a password protected irc
better cut this habit *****ers probably roped already
P13960 link reply
nah im going do something else instead then come back later
dont want to suffer heat death
no wait ive almost died that way of course i want heat death
P13959 link reply
ddidebug/W 0x40
this thing is really useful
0xdeadbeefdeadbeef
and i get more le quirky and cool easter eggs so fun
now to spend hours digging through these pointers and the structs within to see why the ldi ident isnt correct
P13958 link reply
here it is all these plumbing modules dont include a networking device
its even a predefined array
unless dld somehow is meant to load networking devices that doesnt make sense
somewhere else must load it from some other information the loader or boot archive isnt providing
been the original concept for this whole shitblob
funny now that im looking at it here the fstype is correct but its stuck at the pseudo bootstrap fstype then goes to redo the plumbing modules in some *****ed up way
im guessing sun calls ifs ldis now too so ill refer to them as that for this shitblob
an if index is called ldi ident
bunch of debugging calls arent being called or its not reaching the function the break point symbol is reaching
P13957 link reply
funny ive never seen it loaded but it is there
maybe the sun has a concept of invisible space stations that are only in orbit for split second
obvious shit isnt obvious until its found
strplumb: initializing modules
pseudo-device: dld0
dld0 is /pseudo/dld@0
[spoiler: of course the networking device doesnt enter here like it should]
better than nothing but still nothing
no shining
completely sure atleast stdout and printf arent some weird blackhole
P13956 link reply
*latter
think i just found this module not sure where it is in the source tree
P13955 link reply
maybe theres a certain module im meant to replace that has the new code ive pushed
not sure what that is with how ubiquitous if plumbing is
must be a dl* or genunix the later has been replaced and has no new hash
P13954 link reply
heres where playing with kmdb lead to
the uts is trying to network boot and its not in iscsi mode but the correct one
it likely doesnt know the right interface but kmdb can not set *****ing variables outside the initial symbol scope until they are loaded and theres no proper way other than ::nmadd which wont work
or printf really doesnt work after all uts libc likely isnt compliant with ansi
even tried forcing it and doing a clean recompile with it same shit no printing
getting this information will either mean patching the uts or gay bit twiddling until the next issue its not vary far into network booting and something else can easily go wrong
P13953 link reply
was wondering why fstype was so weird its never set and pointing at garbage
so this esoteric pajeetware decides to ignore fstype never being set proper
cue something about rewriting in the current safety tranny language and ignore formal theorems and functional languages
P13952 link reply
%q Prints the member in signed octal. Honk if you ever use this!
wow so quirky
P13951 link reply
used streamlined ed to fix it
garbage but its the worse is better way of unix and this svr4 trash is what it is
and now its proven to not reach that point
atleast it will print when fstype and bootpath is working

nope it errored out on me
cant replace printf with cmn_err like i wish
maybe its first argument can be supplanted with something useful
cant modify this macro like i wish *****p is garbage
still going nap too tired for this garbage
P13909 link reply
for some reason sun make is dumb enough to recompile everything
real glad i got that stringent compilation path working for the uts now
pretty sure its just bogus doing this and i should make a new obps configuration variable that forces fstype
didnt see a single dcmd with kmdb to print if indexes but that help alot here also the dlpi dcmd is utterly useless except for bridges
without it i cant tell if forcing fstype will make it boot
this is a great time to take another nap
P13908 link reply
P13904
P13907 link reply
P13905
not valid here uuuuuuuuuu
P13906
fast enough but it be nice if giving serial a faster baud would make printf go out
not sure why it doesnt maybe its not reaching that debug area yet
if this is true its really bad and i have to write a patch forcing fstype as a new rootconf
still compiling
P13906 link reply
P13903
don't forget to crank up that baud rate slider also...
P13905 link reply

P13903 link reply
have to set a debug level
ddidebug/W 0x8
ddidebug: 0x1 = 0x8
well thats great maybe its not cmn_err and it isnt its printf where ever that goes
recompile time yay yay
P13902 link reply
making it not automatically boot and wait for a panic was that -d flag
boot -kd
forgot about that for a second here still tired
P13901 link reply
buggy whatever II tbg
P13900 link reply
its funny ddidebug is enabled but it wont print
somewhere its said i have to use kmdb to set it but i havent gotten debug kmdb compiled and pushed over
its booting with boot -k but its booting instead of stopping and letting me set ddidebug
kmdb is telling me the networking devices module is loaded and it might be registered in the unix device tree
::modinfo ::prtconf
but i dont see a proper tree where its under dl* and ipnet isnt registered
the required filesystem module also doesnt show up in the unix device tree ill call prt from now on incorrect name but *****
P13899 link reply
its funny ddidebug is enabled but it wont print
somewhere its said i have to use kmdb to set it but i havent gotten debug kmdb compiled and pushed over im sure when i boot -k it will kill me

galsan it gets better when ur mind becomes illuminated and u start glowing so bright like a proper glag (true)
still tired but here i go again

i eat 1 a day
not sure how i used to eat 4 times a day
feel like vomiting if i eat anymore
even now im starting to feel too full
my bed is irritating my skin too much its not like i need to be up rn the histrionic i was teaching howto use that sunos fork isnt doing his homework
going force naping again even though its painful
cant tell which of this shit is less painful a sunos that wont network boot with literal sunny protocols or my bed
its still not shining
P13893 FaggotChan link reply
make sure u eat
P13892 link reply
that and generating a new boot archive did it
DEBUG enabled
yes i needed to know that why dont you put a ascii emoticon after it too
the debugging information i need it to print isnt printing so now ill have to dig into the source again after nap
P13891 link reply
Unexpected trap
its amazing how i can predict this shit now but not avoid these issues
maybe if i provide the genunix "module" i had to compile too
P13890 link reply
got the debug uts to compile somehow
unix: no debugging information available
better not need kgdb for this
im enjoying how i needed 8gb of ram instead of the less than 1gb for any bsd
sure swap but *****ing what
if it loads without miraculously crashing ill post the lns here fc still has
compiling path is something like
import the build variables
usr/src/tools until failure
uts/intel/genassym forgot if this was necessary
uts/intel/genunix
uts/i86pc/unix
not exactly what i did but it might work

its a good thing i never said i liked unix
***** /usr/include/sys/priv_const.h .
make: Warning: Don't know how to make target `debug64/priv_const.o'
not going reserve 20gb and wait a week of fiddling to compile a unix source tree for a uts
somewhere it said you had to compile everything then do continuous builds and nothing else would work
maybe if i get bored again

this is the wonderful world of broken unix source trees
where the most obvious shit is broken and the readme for only building the uts is worthless
forget having to manually link shit in and play retard with tools/ that isnt documented
somehow magically stage 4 of this (((unix))) doesnt have make rules
im sure if i get this to finally compile it wont run because of some gimmick certain exact tools have or linking shit in was the wrong idea [spoiler: it was retard]
the sun is still not shining its time to nap for the 6th time
